A Model Earth Summit (MES) was organized in our school on the very controversial topic of the Arctic Crisis. Due to the rapid melting of the Arctic ice, the various nations which are in that area are militarising it to avail the enormous amount of resources like oil and natural gas which lie under the ice cover. The students from different classes represented the various nations – (USA , Canada , Norway , Afghanistan , Iran , Kenya , India , Italy , Iceland , Finland , Ghana , China , UK , Japan , Russia , Latvia , Denmark) There was also representation of the eminent international news organisation Reuters. They debated rigorously and enthusiastically over two days to find viable solutions to the problems. The Committee, named The Arctic Council, turned out to be extremely successful. Students followed a strict procedure pertaining to the rules and regulations of MUN (Model United Nations). It was an enriching experience for every student and helped them develop their tactical skills by debating upon international issues.
