The school organised a ‘Waste Material Management Workshop’ in the school campus on 15th May, 2014 for the classes IX & X. The workshop was conducted by Mrs. Tultul Banerjee Ma’am, who taught the students how to make gift boxes and other decorative items from card boards and papers. The students were taught to make beautiful gift boxes out of old wedding cards, covers and magazine papers. The boxes were easy to make and within 30 minutes all the participants converted the waste cards into bright and attractive boxes. In addition to this, the students were also taught to make paper flowers for decorating the gift boxes. The ultimate aim of the workshop was to spread awareness among the students about the necessity of waste material management. With the increasing pollution and global warming, it has become really important for us to realise the importance of trees on earth and it is our duty to do whatever we can to save the trees, no matter how small our role may be. The workshop was really a very educating and enriching experience for all the participants who felt that it was really a wonderful experience to convert all the junk they were going to throw away, into such lovely boxes.
